MacAulay describes how 16 or 18 members of the clan are buried 'under the stone at Aoi' [Eaglais na h-Aoidhe] having been killed by Iain Garbh in Iain Wylie's house in Stornoway [Steòrnabhagh]. The fragment tells how a woman finds her foster-sons and a nobleman leaves all his possessions to his daughter and Fionladh mac na ban-traich.

Story about Lord Macdonald's heir and the MacLeans of Bororay [Boraraigh/Boreray] that the MacLeans looked after the heir from when he was born until he was seven years old, when he was returned home 'with a fold of cattle 12 milk cows and a bull' for which MacLean of Boreray got a new lease 'of 3 nineteen y[ea]rs'. Story telling how Mrs MacDonald of Taransay's great grandfather died leaving one son. The child's mother being ill and unsure if she would put him into the care of Mr Auladh [Rev Aulay MacAulay] leaving him 'mile marag (mark)' for the son's education. MacAulay sent him to Stornoway [Steòrnabhagh/Stornoway, Eilean Leòdhais/Isle of Lewis] for three years and then taught him Latin himself, thus faithfully carrying out his duties.
